Zissis Kotionis | Subversion, a Story of the Political Underground
Temporal monument on the unrealized explosion of Hotel 'Grande Bretagne' 1944
Salon De Vortex has been selected as CHEAPART Resident 2013 hosted at CHEAPART's space.
As a part of their research project "Urbanism for Dummies", SDV presents the installation by Zissis Kotionis entitled "Subversion".
“Subversion”, is an installation of a temporal monument dedicated to the unrealized explosion of Hotel «Grande Bretagne», on Christmas of 1944. The hotel was subverted by the communist resistance awaiting Churchill’ s official visit in Athens. The recollection and the documentation of the event plunges into the urban underground, its hidden structure, pulling out its corporeality and the repressed desires of the urban unconscious.
